The first trip along the Missouri river was from Overlook Park in Great Falls, MT to the end of the road at Malmstrum Airforce Base. We then turned around and took The road all the way to Ulm, MT. This was my wifes first extended trip on a motorcycle, and we covered just under 60 miles. Unfortunatelly I lost the pictures of this trip because of a computer crash.
Our second trip along the Missouri River started out from atop of Gore Hill just east of Great Falls, MT. We took the Frontage road all the way to its end point, which is about 8 miles south of Wolf Creek, MT. The day was beautiful, but windy. We had gust up to about 35 miles an hour out on the planes, but they died down pretty good once we got into the Rocky Mountain Front. We stopped at Pelican Point for a few minutes to walk along the river. Our next stop was at Hardy Creek Bridge just to check out the magnificent view. From there we headed down to the turn off for Holter lake. We stopped here for a break and another walk down to the river. We then decided to head on down to Wolf Point and the end of the road instead of going up to Holter Lake. The drive from here to the end of the road is in a mush narrower and more twisty canyon. It was a really nice drive and we had a lot of fun on this section of the road. We stopped at the end of the road for a few minutes break and to enjoy the sceinery. The road from the bridge to the end follows Wolf Creek and then Little Prickley Pear creek. We then headed back into Wofl Creek and got something to drink before heading back home. On this trip we same an abundence of wild life, encluding: several hawks, Canadaian geese, American pelicans, a ring neck phesant, a baby beaver sitting on a sand bar in the middle of the Missouri river, a heard of about 15 deer, and a couple heards of antelope. This trip ended up being 138 miles long and was my wife second trip on the back of a motorcycle. I think I got her hooked.
